Our theme for 2016 is "For Such a Time as This," taken from Esther 4:14, spoken by Mordecai to Esther when she was urged to go before the king on behalf of the Jews. "And who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Knowing that it could mean serious consequences for her personally, Esther committed herself to take her petitions to God and then to the king, vowing, "And if I perish, I perish."

In America. we are faced with a similar decision. Christians across the country, as well as around the globe, find themselves sometimes at a seeming disadvantage, and even in dire danger. The easy route would be to stick our heads in the sand or bar ourselves in our houses and pray that Jesus returns soon. But we have a mission. Who knoweth whether we are come to the kingdom for such a time as this? What a privilege that God has chosen us to live in the 21st century!

We need men and women and young people who will go before God and before our government on behalf of the cause of Christ--speaking up for our beliefs, voting according to godly principles, encouraging others to do the same, being more committed to church than ever before. It's a worthy cause and we are committed to do our part in 2016.
