Mrs. McCoy loves giving spiritual insight to well-known stories and classics, and our ladies have enjoyed such themes as “Beauty and the Beast” (you have a choice each morning which one you will be), “The Seven Dwarfs” (learning to get along with different personalities in the church), “Cinderella” (someday MY prince will come), “Snow White” (wash me and I shall be whiter than snow), and “A Whole New World” (eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him). In 2015, we had our very own Eliza Doolittle for the theme of "My Fair Lady," and in 2016 "Just a Spoonful of Sugar" came to life.
The 2020 conference was postponed due to the health concerns from the recent pandemic, and the 2021 conference was canceled as Pastor McCoy and Mrs. Trish were both fighting Covid. So many of you reached out to let us know you were praying, and we appreciate that so much. This year, we are excited to be hosting our conference once again; our theme is "Rahab and the Spy Who Loved Her," taken from the Old Testament book of Joshua. Our special guest speaker is Mrs. Susan Rossi, and she and her husband (Pastor Lou Rossi of Glen Burnie, Maryland) are long-time friends of Peoples Baptist Church. The cost for registration is $30 through August 15 and may be paid online or by mail; registration after August 15 is $40. The conference begins Friday evening, September 9, at 7 PM and will conclude at 9 PM with a dessert fellowship; on Saturday, September 10, a grab-n-go breakfast is served between 8:00 and 8:30 on the way to the first worship, followed by several encouraging sessions and lunch. For further information, please contact Mrs. Trish McCoy.
