Today, February 2, I turned 53.  Our school, under the direction of Tim Boggs, had a huge party planned.  Every class had worked so hard in their presentation for my birthday, and Trish and I had so much fun as each class brought their “A” game to the celebration. I answered texts throughout the day from friends all over the country, and I received so many cards and calls.  It has been fun, to say the least, and certainly a blessing.  Last night my church was so gracious and kind as they too presented me with gifts.

As I begin this new year of my life, I feel that I am in my prime, and I am excited about serving the Lord.  God has been so good, and I feel that the greatest days of ministry for me are in the future.  The theme of my life for over thirty years has been “It pays to serve God.”  Psalm 84:11 says:  “ . . . no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”  This means that doing our best for Jesus Christ never goes unnoticed.  I have been around “ministry” and in the ministry all my life, and I can truthfully say that God has never let me down. He truly is good—all the time!
