ENJOYING THE BLESSINGS OF GOD!

God has been so good to Peoples Baptist Church. We have just completed some great days in our church. On Friend Day, November 4, we had a high attendance of 1014. We had dinner in the gymnasium and the atmosphere was fantastic. For the past several years we have had all of the food catered in for the Sunday dinner. This year we did it the old-fashioned way and had our ladies bring the food. It was awesome! The food was great and many friends were made.

But, the greatest blessing of all was the fact that over 40 people were saved. We are still rejoicing on what God did for us on for our annual Friend Day. We have our work cut out for us trying to follow up on all of the visitors we had on that special day.

Then we had such a good revival with Dr. Tom Sexton. Dr. Sexton could not be with us for Sunday due to the sickness of his son-in-law, Tim Hawkins. Tim is Dr. Sexton's associate and has been diagnosed with stomach cancer that is in an advanced stage. Your prayers for him would be greatly appreciated.

I preached on Sunday and Dr. Sexton preached on Monday and Tuesday nights. It was such a sweet service on Sunday night when we ended the service on our knees praying for revival. Tuesday night was one of the best services I have been a part of in the almost 3o years I have been at PBC. We had a turkey dinner, with all the trimmings, served that was fabulous. We served several hundred in the fellowship hall. There was a constant line of people that were outside the building waiting for a seat. Folks would eat and then move to the gym so someone else could take their place. Our fellowship hall stayed packed for over an hour.

Then we moved to the gym where we sang, laughed, prayed, and listened to a great message from Bro. Sexton. All in all, it was good to feel the sweet spirit and sense the presence of God for this special occasion. All of the inconveniences of the crowd and the wait seemed to dissipate when they started to eat. It was fun to be a part of such wonderful time.

God is good, and He is good all the time. I am looking forward with eager anticipation at what God has in store for us in 2008. Dr. Sexton told our people, "You are on the threshold of something big--something big that God wants to do in this place." You will hear some great things about this ministry in the future. I am excited to know that God has blessed, and is continuing to bless His work. He gets all the credit, and He is in control. Praise His holy name!
