Welcome New Staff Member

Recently a new staff member, Brother Alan Saunders, was added to the staff of Peoples Baptist Church. He served with Macedonia Missions for 25 years, 13 of which he and his sweet wife Patti served in the Bahamas.

Brother Saunders has already been a blessing of gigantic proportions, heading up our missions department as well as all of our church and school web sites. In this day and time churches need someone who is technologically savvy, and Brother Saunders is certainly that. His wife Patti has worked with children for many years and is presently completing her 11th year of teaching at Old Suwanee Christian School. She will be joining us in our kindergarten program this fall. Brother Saunders is teaching an adult Sunday School class in the church, and already I am hearing rave revenues of his abilities. His class is growing and I expect even more blessings to come in the future. Last Sunday I was able to sit in his class and it was excellent.

I have been at PBC for a long time and I have had some great staff members in my 26-year tenure. Dr. Hyles said one time, "When hiring a secretary, hire one that is loyal; you can teach her to type." Praise the Lord, Brother Saunders is very loyal and he also can type up a storm! Alan is very cable, intelligent, and godly. I am excited about his being here with us. He handles the Word of God with respect, fire, and zeal. Please pray for his success as he joins with me in the work here at Peoples Baptist Church.

The Love of My Life!

Wednesday, March 14, my precious wife will turn 50 years of age. She is the love of my life and my hero. She is definitely the wind beneath my wings. Trish Rushing was born in Bessemer, Alabama in 1957. Trish graduated from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

My wife is one of the hardest working people I have ever seen. We have just come through a week of Camp Meeting services where she served and worked to help make it the great success that it was. When I read Proverbs 31, she is immediately brought to mind, and it is so true when the Bible says: "the heart of her husband doth safely trust in her." I remember the first time that I ever saw her . . . she was beautiful with such a godly presence about her. I was so impressed with her spirit and her love for God. Trish is polished, extremely intelligent, and a godly lady, with a heart for the ministry -- a pastor's dream!

I want to say to you, Sweetheart, that I love you more today than ever before. I say with the Apostle Paul that I am thankful that God put us into the ministry, together, side by side. You are what "the Ministry" is all about! This summer we will celebrate 25 years of marriage together. I look forward to the next 25, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I love you,
Dave
