Pastor McCoy

Dr. David McCoy has been the pastor of Peoples Baptist Church since 1993. He first came to Peoples in 1981 to serve as the youth director under Dr. Charles Wright. Under Pastor McCoy's leadership, Peoples Baptist Academy was founded. The property at Mt. Zion in Morrow was soon sold, and new church and school facilities were built on their 117-acre site in McDonough, Georgia.
 

Pastor McCoy has been married to his wife, Trish, since June 1982. Their daughters Meredith and Monica are graduates of Crown College.  Meredith and her husband Seth Haas currently make their home in Birmingham, Alabama.  Monica is on staff here at Peoples Baptist Academy.

Dr. McCoy is widely known among Independent Baptists and is a much sought-after speaker. He serves as Vice President of Macedonia World Baptist Missions and is the Moderator for the Nationwide Independent Baptist Fellowship.  He has a phenomenal vision for the future of Peoples Baptist Church.  His life’s verse is found in Psalm 84:11, “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
